Historical Market

program

The Historical Market at the Archbishop’s Palace (Erkebispegården) will be seething with life. There will be stalls offering handicrafts and other goods for sale, jugglers, plays, entertainment and a diversity of activities.

At the Archbishop’s Palace we try to recreate the atmosphere from the old market place as it was during the feast of Saint Olav. Craftsmen and pedlars came here to trade their goods. Our new food concept offers medieval meals and tastes. And every day there will be entertainment for everyone, both young and old, at the market.

At the handicraft market old techniques and handicrafts will be demonstrated, among others forging, stone cutting, weaving and wood carving. You may also try out these traditional handicrafts yourself.

A detailed daily programme will be put up in the market place.

At the historical market you can purchase the official products of the festival, such as t-shirts, posters, post cards and more.
